Got solar panels? Your EV can run on your own sunshine. A solar-smart EV charger sends the spare power from your panels into your car, instead of exporting it to the grid for a few cents. We install solar EV chargers across Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula.
How it works
A small sensor at your switchboard tells the charger how much spare solar you have. When there's enough, the charger tops up your car from your panels. When the sun goes in, it can pause or top up from the grid, depending on how you set it up.
Solar chargers we install
- myenergi Zappi: a proven solar charger with several solar charging modes.
- Evnex E2 Core and E2 Plus: compact, New Zealand-made chargers with solar charging built in.
- 3-phase 22kW smart chargers with solar charging, for homes with three-phase power.
Getting the most from your solar
To charge from solar, your car needs to be at home during the day. If it's often away, we can set your charger to use cheaper off-peak power instead. We'll help you choose the right setup when we quote.
Why choose us
EV chargers are all we've done since January 2024. Our licensed SA electricians (PGE332632) check your switchboard and solar, recommend the right charger, and install it neatly and safely. Every home is different, so we'll give you a free quote that confirms your exact price.
